How to Use

1. Load fonts

1. Open the app.
2. Click Load Fonts in the sidebar.
3. The app will scan available fonts on your device and display them as preview cards.

2. Preview your own text

1. Enter the text you want to test in the top text field.
2. If you want to switch back to the built-in sample text, toggle to the default text mode.
3. All visible font cards update using the same text for easy comparison.

3. Search fonts

1. Use the search field in the sidebar.
2. Search by family name, style name, or related keywords.
3. Clear the search field to show all loaded fonts again.

4. Change preview size

1. Use the preview size controls in the sidebar.
2. The selected size is applied to all font preview cards immediately.

5. Favorite fonts

1. Click the star button on any font card to add it to favorites.
2. Switch the favorites filter to view only your saved fonts.

6. Copy a font name

1. Click the copy button on a font card.
2. The app copies the font family name to your clipboard so you can paste it into design or editing tools.

7. Switch light / dark theme

1. Click the theme toggle in the lower-left area of the app.
2. Font Deck remembers your theme preference and restores it next time.

FAQ

Why do some characters appear as squares? That usually means the selected font does not support one or more of the characters in your sample text.

Does Font Deck upload my fonts or sample text? Font Deck is designed as a local preview tool.

Why can’t I find a font I just installed? Close and reopen the app.

Are my favorites and preferences saved? Yes.

Troubleshooting

• Fonts won’t load: confirm you are using macOS, the fonts are available normally in the system, and try Load Fonts again.
• The preview does not update: change the sample text, clear the current search filter, reload the font list, or restart the app.
• Copy font name does not work: try again once more; restarting the app often resolves it.
